‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.
"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he could not remember "any day without laughter".
"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes wrote.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade
In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Recently, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the local authorities.
A legal directive issued a security hold on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.
The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making divisive claims that were widely condemned by several individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the critics recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan labeled the statements as "shocking" and implied they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan finished by suggesting that an aide could have intervened when the choice to comment on the death was made.
