Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.
The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
