Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.

"The aircraft touched down following established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a social media post.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital during the flight.

This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a American defense plane transporting a senior official has experienced technical problems.

Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was compelled to turn back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
